I seek to share interesting scenes or moments or
points of view, sometimes beautiful, sometimes not. I frequently process my
images on a computer to make them better focus on my intended subject or goal
of the photograph. I try to bring out what I saw in my mind's eye when I took
the picture. I have also concluded that photographs do not represent
reality, as many people claim. It is impossible because current digital cameras
nor film are capable of recording the range of dynamic range that our eyes can
see. Hence some of the "modern" techniques to manipulate photos are aimed at
increasing the apparent dynamic range. But furthermore, my goal is to enhance
reality in order to communicate, to make the pictures look more like what I
saw, or maybe what I would like to have seen.
